The team
Who we are
Small, hands-on, and usually covered in fur.
Sets the vision, signs the checks, and loses every layout argument to the AI by sundown.
Niel and Copper, five miles into a Saturday hike.
Turns “wouldn’t it be cool if” into a roadmap by asking an AI “is this possible” until it finally says yes.
Maya and Mochi, off duty at the beach.
Writes the spec, then lets a very patient AI write the code — only one of them drinks coffee.
Sam and Waffles, off the clock and off the couch.
Picks the exact shade of green, then spends an hour convincing the AI it isn’t just “green.”
Priya and Pixel, a bench and a slow afternoon.
Talks to dog parks by day, talks to an AI by night, occasionally forgets which conversation was which.
Jordan and Rocket, chasing a sunset run.
Keeps thirty things running at once and is only mildly concerned that most of them are AI agents.
Liat and Nugget, backyard, extremely persuasive stare.
Meets every prospect in person, then lets the AI draft the forty-seven follow-up emails.
Theo and Biscuit at the Saturday meetup.
Has seen every version of this plan fail before and shows up anyway, no AI required.
Eliahu, surrounded by the dogs nobody else would take.
What we believe
Three things we hold on to
- A dog’s world is people. The best thing you can give a dog is a human who shows up.
- The places dogs love — the parks, the bars, the shops, the yards — are run by people doing every job at once. They deserve better company than they’ve had.
- Software should serve the person holding the leash, the mop, and the phone. Usually that’s the same person.
Our story
Where Tailblaze began
Tailblaze didn’t begin as a company. It began after October 7th, with dogs who had been separated from their families — finding them, moving them out of harm’s way, and sitting with them until they stopped shaking.
Some went home. Some needed new homes. Every one of them taught us the same lesson:
Every dog deserves a safe, loving home — a community — and a parent who knows their dog’s friends by name.
Everything we’ve built since starts from that lesson, and everything we build next answers to it.
Copper · 2010–2026
The dog who started all this
Before there was a company, there was Copper — a scrappy rescue with one ear that never stood up right and an opinion about every stranger who walked by. Sixteen years of car rides, dog parks, and being the reason a room felt like home.
Every feature we build gets asked the same question first: would this have made Copper’s life better, or the person who loved him? If the answer’s no, we don’t build it.
Run a dog business? We’re meeting a few at a time.
